We take your security very seriously. No customer has ever
reported the fraudulent use of their credit card as a result of shopping with us.
So confident are we in the measures we have taken and the procedures we have in place
that we back every purchase with a security guarantee.
Why shopping with us is safe:
- We only accept your personal information such as credit card details, name
and address, etc. through our secure server. This ensures that any data sent
to us is encrypted by your browser before being sent to us. Compare this to
giving your card details over an open phone line or sending them through the
mail.
Many sites offer the opportunity to send details without encryption, or
don't even offer an encryption facility at all. We won't compromise your
security and if your
browser cannot communicate with us securely, then unfortunately we cannot
accept your order.
Any page where you are asked to send us private information will automatically go
into secure mode (you can tell this by the little yellow key/padlock appearing
at the bottom of your browser). For an example, click
here to see this page is secure mode.
- We do not store your credit card details. Once your credit card details
have been sent to us, the payment is processed real-time but we do not record
your card details anywhere. They are passed securely to our card processor
(Datacash) who connect directly and securely to the major banks having been
approved and security checked by them.
- The media would have you believe that in the event of fraudulent use of
your credit card you are liable. This is generally not true as most banks
and card issuers cover all the charges or may limit your liability to just
£50. Check your card terms now as it may be time for a change if your card
issuer does not offer this!
- However, if your bank or card issuer does hold you liable,
GGoneGardening.com will cover your liability up to £50 provided that the
unauthorised use of your credit or debit card resulted through no fault of
your own from purchases made in our shops.
Important notes:
- This guarantee covers a maximum liability of £50
- In the event of unauthorised use of your credit or debit card, you must
notify your card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and
procedures.

How safe is shopping on the Internet?
"Very is the answer. Companies selling online use encryption technology to protect customers. Encryption converts your personal account details into secret code which is then sent over the Internet
a hacker would need to try every possible combination. Someone trying to crack the code most commonly used - known as 40-bit encryption - is looking for one in 1,099,511,627,776 combinations."
Daily Mail 13/1/99
"The dangers of e-commerce have been exaggerated. Stepping into the huge chasm of cyberspace does take a little getting used to, but in reality you take as big a risk handing your credit card to a waiter as you do when you enter the details into a website."
