Using nematode Steinernema feltiae, extensive tests have been run to demonstrate dramatic results in controlling this pest. Application should be done late August through to the end of October when the leatherjackets are young and active in the soil. When you start to see the adult crane fly (daddy-longlegs) in your garden (towards the end of August) you will know that in a few days they will be laying eggs. These will hatch quickly, so aim to apply the nematodes two weeks after you see the adults. Nemasys®: effectively controls leatherjackets with no risks to children, pets and wildlife. When you receive your consignment: place it in the refrigerator immediately and use within four weeks. Availability: available to order from summer 2010
